Amsterdam, 1640-43, 3 vol. folio (500 x 320 mm) 6 engraved architectural titles (heigthened with gold), and 273 mostly double-page engraved maps, contemporary hand colour, contemporary gilt-panelled vellum. Folio, engraved allegorical title by Olivero Gatto printed within typographical border, 61 engraved maps as called for in index (all but 3 double-page), in fine dark impression, engraved portrait of Magini, text on 15 leaves. Seventeenth-century red morocco, gilt, sides panelled in gilt and blind, gilt edges. A few marginal repairs, some occasional marginal soiling.

Amsterdam: W. & J. Blaeu, [1649]. Second Latin edition. Engraved title page (old coloured and heightened in gold) + 139 mostly double-page plates, all finely coloured by a contemporary hand. Original Dutch publisher's atlas binding in maroon leather gilt (restored), gilt-panelled with large central gilt arabesque, spine in eight compartments with raised bands, gilt edges. Collector's stamp "Walter Ashburner - Firenze" on frontispice and on last page, the same owner signature on the back of the front cover dated "Firenze,1908".

Calf binding, restored, new spine (original spine preserved), covers gilt paneled with central arabesque motifs.
