India quae Orientalis dicitur et Insulae Adiacentes - Janssonius J, 1646-49.

Map of the East Indies, oriented to the North

This map is dedicated to D. Christophorus Thisius by Henricus Hondius. It was one of the first maps to show the Dutch discoveries of the west coast of Cape York Peninsula (later named Carpentaria) and the most northerly discoveries on the west coast, G.F. de Wit's Land and Eendrachtland. In this instant, however, it seems that Hondius and Jansson had borrowed from Blaeu who had published an almost identical map a year earlier (1635). (Parry, p.109)
