Adrian Possemirs is a fairly unknown engraver, working in Ghent between 1680 and 1712. Among the very few works with his name, only a copy of celestial globe gores are notified in the national Library at Copenhagen. No example of this terrestrial globe is known so far. - Not in Shirley (World).
The globe is similar composed as the one by Kaerius (Shirley, 281) but without the cartouches and other embellishments. There are some striking resemblances with the very rare Jansson gores 1621 (Shirley, 308): A remark relating to Hudson's Bay: "The Bay wher Hidson did winter", including the writing error.
