"Woodward ascribes the engraving of this Bertelli map to Paolo Forlani. The immediate model was a map of Lombardy, published in 1556 by Vincenso Luchini in Rome. The authorship is attributed to Giacomo Gastaldi. The topographical roots of this map type go back to a woodcut map of ca. 1520 by Luca Antonio de Hubertis." (Meurer)
