The Great Lakes in North America are not shown and north-east Asia is truncated in an unusual way. The map was first made by P. Mortier and for this edition by Covens and Mortier, the whole Hudson's Bay area has been redrawn to include three large islands, and a sea channel or Mer Glaciale now extends right through the Strait of Anian just north of California. Unidentified promontories have also been added to north-east Asia.
