First 3 vols (of a series of 8), large folio (54 x 38,5 cm), contemporary red morocco (some rubbing), hand-marbled endpapers, spine with 7 raised bands, lettered in gilt, gilt triple line on the sides, inner dentelles gilt, gilt edges. 299 (of 300, lacks pl. 44 in vol.3) original hand-coloured plates of flowering plants, including vegetables, 3 vignettes on title pages, 3 portraits, 1 engraved map "Prospectus Horti Romani", occasional minor spotting.
